On another preliminary page is a handwritten note in pencil possibly relating to the drawings. [Linear Drawing for [?]/ the French National Schools/ [D]arton & Harvey/ Joyce's Scientific Dialogues/ to begin with/ then Joyce's Letters on/ Nat. & Exp. Phil./ Bingley's Elements of Useful/ Knowledge/ Kildare St. Lending Library/ at Nisbet's Berners St./ Hints to Parents on the plan of/ Pestalozzi 3 Nos. Darton & Harvey]. Handwritten abbreviated title page pasted to another preliminary page in Vol. 1, along with a handwritten letter addressed to Oldfield Thomas, signed with initials ?W, regarding the publication dates of the different volumes of this work. Annotations in pencil and ink in Vol. 1, and in pencil in Vol. 2. P. 17/18 of Vol. 4 is torn at the fore edge, not affecting the text. Moderate to heavy foxing in all the volumes, especially Vol. 2.
