Patrick Browne had collected 1200 species, which he subsequently presented to Linnaeus. Sloane, the first naturalist to visit Jamaica, brought back 800 species.

NHM BOTANY - '7' has been added in ink to the date on the title page. A name has been corrected in pencil on p. 10. There is a small hole on p. 23/24 which has resulted in the loss of some text.
