Front board and pages before t.p. detached. Back hinge is broken and has been repaired previously. On the inside of the back cover is a ms. annotation in ink regarding the method of preserving herbarium specimens.
Bound in brown full leather which has a marbling effect, and gold tooling to covers. The spine, which is worn, has raised bands and gold tooling.
