Vol. 9 is bound in half calf, with paper over boards marbled in brown and blue curl pattern with shell veins; blind double fillets at leather edges. Spine with five raised bands flanked by gilt double fillets of differing widths. Double lettering-piece now vanished, leaving the impressions of the words BOTANICAL / TRACTS in the upper compartment, and the volume number three compartments below. A slip of paper is pasted at the top of the spine bearing the ink numeral 9. Red edges; top-edge stained. Brown endpapers.
