Notes

General notes:
This edition, prepared by Thomas Hill, was left incomplete on his death in 1775, with only the first volume having been published. The statement on the title-page that Almeloveen and Commelijn were involved is therefore inaccurate, as they did not contribute to the text of the Hortus until after the portion translated. Hill had reduced copies made of the plates, and added Linnaean names and other notes copied from Linnaeus' Species plantarum.
Complete imprint statement.
