II rebound while in Karl Koster's ownership in 2000: calf with gilt single fillet on boards; compartmented back with five raised bands, double gilt fillets, and black morocco label with gilt title: ELEMENTS / OF / BOTANY. Speckled edges.
Condition noted; 20010118. Title-page of vol. I shows staining from frontispiece type. All volumes show text block breaking in places, but all are still well cased. Some plates partially detached.
Condition noted; 20130812. Copy 1. Vol. 1: rubbed, corners lifting; top, bottom and edges of spine very rubbed; board, endpaper, half-title and frontispiece splitting from text block. Vol. 2: spine edges heavily rubbed; lower edge of paper cover on front board flaking and lifting; small break in front hinge along line of sewing. Vol. 3: worn, corners and edge of front board lifting; spine worn. Vol. 2 copy 2: slightly rubbed; good.
