The work was originally issued in six parts between 1811-1812. Date of publication is printed as 1811 on title page, although date in watermarks in the text and that printed on some of the plates (cf. plates 10-17) is 1812.

Reginald Cory bequest, 1936. On front pastedown is an engraved armorial bookplate with the name Kiethick and the motto Nutus in undis. This appears to overlay a previous bookplate. On front free endpaper verso is the ink inscription William Edward Collins of Keithick Jany. 23. 1826. On front free endpaper verso is the pencil inscription: 17 plates d/-/-. A list of the parts of the work in the order of binding, in Mrs Cardew's hand, is tipped in on the front free endpaper. The (loose) errata slip is inscribed, in a 19th-century hand amended in Mrs Cardew's hand, "For a Review of [the 1st Number of] this Work see Critical Review for Novr 1811 Oct 27" [series 3, vol. 24, November 1811, pp. 332-3]. The date 1811 on the title-page has been corrected in ink to 1812. The advertisement to part II is inscribed in Mrs Cardew's hand, "Shd follow the Preface (iii-vi)". Date in imprint corrected in ink to "1812".
